Happy Sunday!

What a beautiful and HOT day here in MN! I spent the time relaxing on a deck next to a pool and a lake and finished knitting THE I-CORD -  yippee. I am so happy because it was little Mallory’s birthday a month ago :-(

I’m now ready to felt but I have not done it before. I have read about a few different ways to do it. How have you two done it? Help!

I hope you both had a wonderful weekend!

Peaceandloveandhugs,

Karen

I haven’t actually felted anything on my own yet. When we took our mitten/hat class at Yarn Cafe, they felted Aleia’s hat there. It sounds like one of the most common methods is to put it in one of the zip up bags (pillow case or lingerie bags) and throw it in with some jeans. At Yarn Cafe they only ran it through the hot spin cycle and then just checked it every couple of minutes till it was the correct size. A. felted her own bag though so maybe should can give some additional advice (just sent her a text a few minutes ago).

    Howdy : )
I did my bags the same way they showed me how to do my hat at Yarn Cafe. Place your finished piece in a pillow case and place in washer with other heavy items and laundry detergent. Run on hot, regular cycle and stop to check frequently – especially if you used the Tranquility yarn as it tends to felt pretty fast. Once felted to the size you desire, remove from washer, gently squeeze out excess water and place over desired form to dry for two days. I used a box covered with a plastic bag for my form, but it depends on the shape you want. I can’t wait to see your finished product!
